Land. Design.
Build. Story.
Conservation communities and agriculture-centered places — from a single acre to a thousand.
Our WorkAbout Fieldwork
Fieldwork is the land, design, and development arm of Fisher & Farmer. We plan, design, build, and broker places where food production, ecological stewardship, and residential life share the same ground — and then we write about them.
Not every project is a master plan. We design kitchen gardens for homesteads and orchards for restaurants. We broker farmland transactions and advise landowners on conservation easements. We convert barns, plan farm stays, and lay out market gardens. When the land and the ambition call for it, we design and build conservation communities from the ground up.
What We Do
Brokerage, site selection, conservation planning, land stewardship advisory. We find and evaluate properties, broker transactions, and advise landowners on conservation community models — from a 40-acre parcel in Rabun County to a hillside in Connemara.
From a single transaction to a regional land strategy.
Architecture, farm system design, master planning, and community layout. We design the place — from a kitchen garden and a barn conversion to a full agri-hood site plan. Regenerative agriculture, conservation ecology, and vernacular building traditions specific to each territory.
From a kitchen garden to a conservation village.
Development, construction management, and project delivery. We hold our own builder’s licence. We can serve as general developer on our own projects or as development partner on third-party land. Not every project requires a build phase — but when it does, we don’t hand it off.
From a barn conversion to a 200-acre community.
The Fisher & Farmer editorial apparatus. We cover the project and the landscape it inhabits through the F&F publication. We teach from the farm through the Field School. We stock the shelves through the supply company. We host visitors through the booking engine. The story is not marketing — it is the thing itself.
Every Fieldwork project has a narrative from day one.
